Matt Trunnell, Partner of Distinctive Building Group, was exposed early on to the intricacies and exceptional detail involved in delivering a superior finished product. A Great Falls native, he worked alongside his mother as she built one of the leading interior design/pre-construction firms in the region. For over 25 years, he has catered to distinguished clients across the globe. In observing his mother's work ethic and exceptional attention to detail, Matt's passion for construction was born.

His industry knowledge was further deepened at the side of his father. Matt spent his summers working for the family's electrical company which is celebrating 80 years in business in 2016. "Both of my parents' tenacious work ethic and connection to their customers set the bar, sky high," explains Matt.

Matt entered the construction industry in 2000, fine-tuning his knowledge and acquiring LEED accreditation with expertise in design and construction.

"High level detail was being overlooked in the market and I had long ago developed an eye for quality craftsmanship," explains Matt. Already a successful entrepreneur, he formed Distinctive Renovations in 2007 with residential and commercial divisions.

The company's body of work has been featured in Home & Design and Washington Spaces. Matt's superior reputation and DR's continued growth paved the way for DBG. The group will continue to build upon this foundation and strive to become one of the top construction companies in the region.

Today, Matt lives in western Loudoun County. He is happily married to his supportive wife, Michelle and stays busy with five beautiful children, an American bulldog, and 13 chickens. In his spare time, Matt heads to the trail on his mountain bike to get lost in the woods.
